The Alltech FEI European Jumping Championships 2009 were held in Windsor, UK and saw a dramatic competition. In the Nations Cup Team event, the leader board was constantly changing and the final results were so close with formidable new Swiss Chef D'Equipe Markus Fuchs. Germany just edged out the Netherlands for the Bronze medal. In the individual competition, France's disappointment of failing to win a medal in the team was more than alleviated by Kevin Staut (FRA) on the 11 year old Selle Francais stallion, Kraque Boom who took the individual gold medal. History was made in Hong Kong when the USA defended their Athens team title, winning the first ever jump off for Gold at an Olympic Games, against Canada.
